We have made two other films in the same village.
Home (2022)
In the months before her inevitable arranged marriage, Munni contemplates her home in the Indian Himalayas. She reflects on her ties to family and the land, her ambivalent pursuit for an education outside the village and the delicate dance between continuity and change. Based on ethnographic research in the village over two decades, 'Home' is a portrait of love and loyalty, and of simmering unease for what might lie ahead.
Over the two decades that Jane has worked in the village, so much has changed. We wanted to capture the implications of these shifts for a newly educated generation of articulate young women whose voices are rarely heard and whose futures continue to be shaped by patriarchal norms around work and marriage. What emerges is an often-ambivalent juggling of commitments to the past and present while forging new futures.

Lifelines (2014)
Life under the towering peaks of Nanda Devi is one of hard agricultural labour: fields are ploughed with oxen, crops harvested by hand and hauled by the backload up and down the mountains. But in many villages straddling the high Himalayas, many of the younger generation seek to chart a new course, different from those of their parents.
This is one man’s story of juggling responsibilities and fighting for dreams, both for himself and his community.
